WHY CHOISE “SOUTHERN PERU EXPLORERS”
Southern Peru Explorers operate all our own treks! Often times other companies, especially those offering daily departures, are just an intermediary. They instead send you on your trek with a 3rd party company. We take pride in operating all the treks we sell ourselves, allowing us to uphold the high tour standards we promise, minimize miscommunications, and give you personalized attention you deserve.
Southern Peru Explorers treat our staff like family! Peruvian Porter Law and Regulation dictates minimum standards and wages for porters. We give not only porters but all our staff a wage that exceeds the minimum wage and the average wages paid by most tour companies. Our porters, chefs, wranglers, and guides are all given supplies for the treks including ample food, sleeping bags, all weather clothing, boots, and back support. We also guarantee that our staff have a minimum number of treks per month and that their wage does not change throughout the year, providing them with stable income which helps relieve some of the uncertainties that can arise when working with other tour agencies during low season.
Southern Peru Explorers has great guides! We have a core team of guides that are specifically chosen for each group we book. They are trained, are able to speak English, and are very charismatic. We are constantly receiving feedback from our previous guests to make sure our guide team stays strong and providing quality service to our clientele. For every 12 people on a trek, we provide one guide, ensuring that each guest receives personal treatment and you don’t feel lost in the crowd. While other guides may take 16+ people, we limit our groups to 12 people to make sure your experience is unique to you. Upon request we also have guides that speak a multitude of languages including French, Italian, German, Chinese, and Japanese. Furthermore, we have guides that specialize in specific knowledge including ornithology, history, archaeology, and other plants and animals.
Southern Peru Explorers prides ourselves on our equipment! We choose quality brands for our tents, sleeping pads, and water filters. This equipment is checked for quality before each trek and renewed yearly making sure every trekker is comfortable and safe.
Southern Peru Explorers cooks up delicious meals! On our treks we provide not only breakfast, lunch, and dinner but also snacks and a break for tea. These are customizable around allergies or other special diets including vegetarian, vegan, Atkins, Gluten-free, etc. at no extra cost. Each of our meals is cooked by our chefs from quality natural ingredients from the area. We do not bring pre-packaged junk food nor do we serve generic bland dishes. Our chefs, trained with HACCP hygiene practices, will bring you safe, healthy, and delicious meals throughout your trek.
Southern Peru Explorers cares about the environment. On our all treks throughout the region we strive to be little to no impact. We train our staff to uphold our environmental expectations and our leave only footprints policy.
Southern Peru Explorers operates lawfully. There are many tour operators who do not declare all of their sales or alter their earnings to avoid paying certain taxes. However, here at Southern Peru Explorers we pay our 19% IGV, consumption tax, as well as the 30% tax due from all income.
Southern Peru Explorers has satisfied customers. From our testimonials and reviews you can see that our clients leave content and with wonderful memories. We have been operating for years proving our consistence and reliability in the services we provide.
While other tour companies over deep discounts for the same trek, this does not mean that they offer the same service as us. While price is always a deciding factor in one’s decision, please take into account the vast amount of differences between our agencies and others. By supporting responsible tour companies, you are promoting the preservation of the land you are touring and helping rather than hurting local communities and business.
